Privacy Policy

Grid Maker processes every image and PDF entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored or shared — see exactly what happens on this page.

What this policy covers

Grid Maker is a free online grid maker that adds grids to images and generates printable graph paper PDFs. You can use every tool without an account, without payment and without providing any personal information. This policy explains what is processed when you use the site, where that processing happens, and what we never collect.

The short version

Your images, your files and your settings never leave your browser. All decoding, grid rendering, PNG/JPG export and PDF generation happens locally on your device using standard web APIs such as Canvas and Blob handling. There is no upload endpoint, no image storage bucket and no server-side processing pipeline for user files.

Images you upload

When you upload a JPG, PNG or WebP file, the browser reads it into memory, draws it onto an HTML canvas and overlays the grid you configured. The file itself stays in your device's temporary memory for as long as you keep the page open. When you close or reload the page, that memory is released by the browser automatically. We do not copy, transmit, hash or retain uploaded images, and we do not log file names.

Files you download

Downloaded PNGs, JPGs and PDFs are assembled in your browser from the same in-memory canvas data. The download goes directly from your device to your device. No copy of any generated file is sent to us, and we cannot recover a file after you delete it from your computer, because we never had it.

Printable graph paper settings

Paper size, orientation, grid spacing, margins, line color and page count are used only to draw the preview and the vector PDF on your device. These settings are not transmitted to our servers and are not attached to the generated files.

Local storage and cookies

The site may store a small preference in your browser (for example your light or dark theme choice) using local storage. This information stays in your browser and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings. If a language choice is saved, it is stored the same way.

Analytics

If analytics are enabled, we collect aggregate, privacy-friendly statistics such as page views and referrer domains. Analytics events never include your images, file names, PDF settings or any content you create. You can block analytics scripts with any standard content blocker without affecting the tools.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical request data (IP address, timestamps, user agent) to operate the service, prevent abuse and diagnose errors. These logs are retained for a short period and are not used to build profiles or identify individual users.

Third-party services

We do not use advertising networks, social plugins, chat widgets or tracking pixels that follow you across other websites. Fonts, icons and scripts are served from this site's own domain. If we ever add an external service that processes data, this policy will be updated before it goes live.

Children

The tools are safe for all ages and collect no personal information, so there is no age-gate and no account requirement. There is nothing a child could inadvertently disclose, because nothing is disclosed to us at all.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal information or user content, there is generally no personal data to access, correct, export or erase. Where basic server logs exist, they are processed solely for security and reliability. If you believe your data appears on this site and want it removed, contact us and we will investigate.

Changes to this policy

If the product changes in a way that affects privacy — for example adding optional accounts or cloud features — we will update this page and the "last updated" date before the change takes effect.
